2024 Three-Star ATH Kamore Harris commits to Memphis

In the NIL era, there are no off-days in the college coaching realm. Shortly following bowl season, coaches across the country immediately shift focus to retaining roster talent and recruiting incoming freshmen. In January, Kamore Harris was a name that quickly emerged for the Memphis coaching staff. Initially unranked and playing 2A ball in rural Alabama, players like Harris are in jeopardy of being overlooked by college scouts every year. Turn on the game film, however, and Kamore Harris is a player that cannot be ignored.

Playing running back, linebacker, and defensive tackle at the high school level, Harris is the epitome of a Swiss Army knife. After logging 3,578 rushing yards and 45 touchdowns in two years, the Tigers were moved enough to establish an early relationship with Harris and were the second school to extend an offer in January. On Wednesday, Harris made his commitment to Memphis official, choosing the Tigers over offers from Marshall, UAB, Troy, and Colorado State. Standing 6’1″, 240 pounds, Harris has reportedly clocked a 4.4 40-yard dash, 315 pound bench press, and 550 pound squat. Defensively, he ended last fall with 96 tackles and 3 sacks.

As a program that strives to be bigger, faster, and stronger than competing schools in the American Athletic Conference, Harris is the ideal player for the Tigers. After a big day Wednesday, the Tigers now have 11 commitments in the 2024 class.
