Arrington Maiden Commitment Continues Big Recruiting Weekend for Memphis Football

With Memphis Football’s individual prospect camps concluding on Sunday, the Tigers’ staff planned to have several high priority recruits on campus for an important weekend of official visits. On Sunday, any thought that 2024 recruiting had gotten off to a slow start went out the window when the Tigers secured their second commitment of the day in quarterback Arrington Maiden. The College Station, Texas native elected to commit to Memphis over Boston College, Tulane, UTSA, and others after taking several on-campus visits throughout the month of June.

In 2022, the 6’3”, 195 lb. gunslinger completed 195 of 341 passes for 2,279 yards and scored 22 total touchdowns en route to a Texas Class 5A Division 1 state championship appearance. Scouts have spoken highly of his deep ball accuracy, exceptional field vision, and ability to extend plays when necessary. The Tigers have signed at least one QB every season since 2021 and they have to be pleased with landing a high-upside prospect like Maiden. Good things seem to happen when the Memphis coaching staff can get a recruit on campus. Tiger fans should be proud that Memphis’s athletic facilities are a definite selling point on the recruiting trail.

Could more commitments roll in following a big weekend in Memphis? Stay tuned
