Thursday was a massive day for Bluff City Media. We have now announced the additions of both Grizzly Bear Blues and the 901 Soccer Podcast.
The 901 Soccer Podcast offers coverage of Memphis 901 FC and the Memphis Americans. The podcast was founded in 2019, and Lawrence Dockery took over operations in 2020. Dockery is the operator and manager of the 901 Soccer Podcast and has also worked as a writer with World Soccer Talk since 2014.
Although his coverage is mainly centered around 901 FC and the Americans, he has also covered University of Memphis soccer and the USA Men’s National Team on the podcast as well.
Over the last several years, Dockery has built a strong audience and following within the Memphis soccer community.
“It’s nice to see that my work has paid off and there are people who are paying attention to what I’m saying and doing,” Dockery said. “With it being a digital media company and a bigger umbrella, I think it’ll be able to reach a much bigger audience.”
Dockery has been a one-man band since 2020, so he explained how excited he is to join BCM and be able to interact more with the fanbase and his new co-workers.
“This is where the sports media world is heading, so I’m excited to switch it up and do a little more with the podcast itself,” Dockery said. “The thing I’m most excited about is having more of a community within the sports world and the media world here at Bluff City Media.”
