Breaking Down Three-star RB Makari Bodiford’s Commitment to Memphis

There are few states that Ryan Silverfield and staff have recruited better than the state of Georgia. Each recruiting cycle, the Tigers have successfully landed talented recruits from the Peach State and that trend looks to continue with the commitment of three-star GA running back MaKari Bodiford on Sunday.

Bodiford, hailing from the same high school as current Tiger RB Sutton Smith, selected Memphis over the likes of Cincinnati, Coastal Carolina, Florida Atlantic, and others. A multi-sport athlete, Bodiford’s junior stats undoubtedly caught the attention of the Memphis coaching staff — 1,684 all-purpose yards, 22 touchdowns, and seven total games with 100 yards rushing or more. With Bodiford in the backfield, Walton High School’s upset of 1-seed Buford High School in the 2022 Class 7A playoffs served as perhaps one of the biggest victories throughout the state. It was Buford’s earliest exit from the postseason since 1999.

Bodiford will look to continue those winning ways as he becomes the Tigers’ second
