Memphis Grizzlies center Steven Adams would be miss the NBA Playoffs. Adams, who has been out for two months trying to recover from a PCL strain in his knee, will miss the playoffs, per Adrian Wojnarowski.
Next, Memphis Grizzlies are waiving rookie point guard Kennedy Chandler in a move to open up a roster spot for the postseason. Chandler, a second round draft pick out of the University of Tennessee, signed the largest guaranteed contract for a second round draft pick eight months ago. Now, he is a free agent, per Shams Charania.
The Grizzlies filled that open roster spot with one of their own. The Grizzlies are signing their two-way big man Kenny Lofton Jr. to a standard NBA contract. Lofton, coming off of a impressive season with both the Memphis Hustle and the Memphis Grizzlies. He won G-League Rookie of the Year this past week, averaging 20.2 points per game along with 10.4 rebounds with the Hustle.
The Grizzlies filling Lofton Jr’s two-way spot on the roster with Guard Jacob Gilyard. Gilyard spent this past season with the Hustle and led the G-League in assists per game.
