The Memphis Grizzlies Point Guard was seen on Instagram Live Saturday Morning holding a pistol in a strip club following the Grizzlies loss to the Denver Nuggets.
The Memphis Grizzlies announced Saturday afternoon that All-Star Point Guard Ja Morant would be “away from the team at least two games,” following an incident that happened early Saturday morning.
While the team announced Morant would be “away” Shams Charania of the Athletic reported that Morant had been suspended for two games. Either way, this comes after Morant’s Instagram Live post at 2:19 AM in the morning where Morant appeared to be in a strip club with his friends. During the live, Morant appeared to show a gun, and this happened only a few hours after the Grizzlies tough loss to the Denver Nuggets.
Shortly after 3:30 P.M. CT Ja Morant released a statement regarding this mornings events. “I take full responsibility for my actions last night. I’m sorry to my family, teammates, coaches, fans, partners, the city of Memphis and the entire Grizzlies organization for letting you down, Morant continued.
Morant ended his statement letting everyone how he is going to seek help moving forward, “I’m going to take some time away to get help and work on learning better methods of dealing with stress and my overall well-being.”
