Dejon Jarreau plays hero and lifts Hustle to their second straight win.

Same teams, same results, same fashion, different day. The Memphis Hustle took on the Austin Spurs for the Saturday spotlight live from their crib in Texas. This game was coming off the Hustle’s unbelievable last-second comeback versus the same team on Thursday. The Hustle, who are now only a game below the.500 mark, exploited Austin for the second straight time, ultimately helping propel them to their third straight victory and flipping the script on a rough start to their regular season. The hero tonight? Dejon Jarreau.

In their last matchup on Thursday, the Austin Spurs looked like they had the game in the bag late after bouncing back and maintaining their grip after getting bullied by the Hustle in the first quarter. Tonight, it was the exact opposite, as the Spurs jumped out to an early 37-23 lead at the end of the first quarter, a lead that eventually ballooned to 19 at its peak. The Hustle, who’ve struggled to overcome large deficits and keep their footing after poor starts, did an insanely impressive job on the evening as they overcame the odds to seal off a game that looked like it was over early.

DEJON JARREAU, ladies and gentlemen, is a certified BUCKET. A large 30 point, 10 assist, 15 rebound triple-double, with a shot as crispy as a cold McDonald’s Sprite. This man WENT OFF. There was absolutely no stopping Jarreau on the floor tonight. He was dishing, swishing, and not missing, and he was the leading force behind the charge of the Hustle that ultimately propelled them to winning this game. Adonis Arms also strung together an impressive performance on the evening and had quite a few electric dunks that definitely struck energy into the team and were early pieces of runs that got the Hustle back into the game. Arms finished the game with 20 points, six rebounds, three assists, a steal, and a block. Whatever you needed, those two had it. The squad as a whole came together and contributed very well, but those two guys right there flipped the script big time.

This is now the third straight win for a Hustle team that looked like it was stuck in the mud after drastic roster changes in a short time, but as of late, they really seem to be locking in as a unit and figuring it out. Coach March, the staff, and the players have done a remarkably great job at adapting on the fly and digging deep to win some very crucial games when the odds seemed to be in favor of their opponents. Tonight’s win leaves the Hustle one game out of a top-eight seed in the West as they trail the Austin Spurs, who have lost their last five after starting their season 5-0. If the Hustle can continue to play at this level and have some of their key missing pieces return, this could be a very tough team to beat moving forward.
