Hustle Defeat Knicks Ending Their Season On a High Note

The Memphis Hustle suited up for their final game of the 2023-2024 season as they took on the Westchester Knicks for the second straight game, serving as the latter half of their final back-to-back. The Hustle fell short in the Friday night battle versus the Westchester but responded strongly by upsetting them on their homecourt, sealing a very unexpected season with one last victory.

The Knicks didn’t play a terrible game despite losing. They outrebounded the Hustle 60-38, scored better in the paint, and surprisingly played decent defense throughout the evening. The efforts of De’Vion Harmon were felt as he provided 32 points, nine rebounds, and five assists for Westchester, providing as much as he could on the floor.

Memphis came into this matchup lacking Adonis Arms, who was out due to a quad injury, but was rejoined by Deeky Jarreau, who erupted for a career-high 37 points to go along with 16 assists and nine rebounds, finishing just one board shy of yet another triple-double. The Hustle started this game slow and found themselves trailing by almost double-digits after the first quarter, but went on to outscore the Knicks in the final three quarters, maintaining control of the game and allowing no opportunities for an upset in this one.

The Hustle wrapped up their wild season, finishing with a record of 15-19, shy of clenching a playoff berth and being eligible for postseason play. A sweet spot in a bitter end to a wild and unexpected season, but there was still plenty to be proud of. Be on the lookout for the season recap coming soon.
