The Hustle were back for night two of their game stand in Mexico City. This game comes after the Hustle fell by 34 points in the first duel versus the Capitanes on Wednesday. Backs against the wall, the Hustle bounced back in convincing fashion to get their payback and upset the Capitanes in front of their home crowd.
Mexico City was once against charged by Ethan Thompson who provided an impressive 33 points, 9 boards and 4 assists and was joined by former NBA stud Kenneth Faried who notched a 12 point, 10 board double-double topped off by four blocks. The Capitanes failed to replicate their Wednesday night performance as they were unable to match their shooting numbers nor were they able to effectively stop the Hustle who had a better night shooting the ball and getting to the line, shooting 26 freethrows on the evening. A complete 180° for Mexico City on the evening.
Memphis did an amazing job of responding to an insanely bad loss on Wednesday night. The Hustle shot better, got to the line for nearly 30 shots at the charity stripe, attacked the paint for nearly 50 points, recorded 16 steals on the defensive end, and played an overall better game on both sides of the floor. Deeky Jarreau recorded 20 points, six rebounds, three assists, five steals, and a block in an impressive performance on both ends. Michael Devo logged a 20-point, 11-board double-double, and Davon Reed recorded 15 points, eight boards, and two assists. All starters scored 15 or more points in what resulted in a very impressive win for a shorthanded Hustle squad one day after a blowout to the same team.
The Hustle will be live from Portland, Oregon, on Sunday night as they take on the Rip City Remix for the first time this season. The tip will be live at 5:00 p.m. CDT.
