Hustle Get Payback On Texas in Legendary Fashion

The Memphis Hustle were in search of payback against the Texas Legends after collapsing in their last matchup against them on Friday night. This also marked the end of a seven-game homestand for the Hustle, where they went 4-3 in front of their home crowd. In their last matchup, the Hustle jumped out to an early lead and fizzled out around the mid-second quarter before making a late game push, where they still ultimately lost 135-128. Tonight was a much more polished product from Memphis, and they did a very good job on both ends of the floor, especially on the defensive end. All the starters for the Hustle finished positive in terms of efficiency, while all but one Legends player finished in the negative, a testament to the well-played game the Hustle squad played on both ends.

Texas came into Sunday afternoon looking to extend their win over the Hustle into a winning streak as the Hustle looked to avoid dropping three straight. Unfortunately for Texas, they were limited to a seven-man rotation and had very poor production from their two guys off the bench. Theo Pinson, who had 11 points and 20 assists in the last matchup, was among those inactive for Texas. The Hustle led in nearly every statistical category on the evening (minus points off of turnovers) while committing fewer fouls and turnovers.

The Hustle, on the other hand, had all hands on deck, with four guys even locking in for 20+ points in the afternoon. Davon Reed and Michael Devoe both scored 21 apiece, DeJon Jarreau notched 22, and Adonis Arms popped off for 26, making it his fourth straight game while scoring 20+ points. A remarkable team effort for the Hustle came off a very disappointing loss on Friday. This sets them team back to the .500 mark and 9-9 on the season before they hit the road Tuesday.
