Memphis 901 FC Adds Panos Armenakas

Memphis 901 FC announced on Thursday that, in exchange for an undisclosed fee, the team has acquired Panos Armenakas from Phoenix Rising.

“We are delighted to welcome Panos to Memphis,” said Acting Sporting Director Caleb Patterson-Sewell. “He is a top talent and was highly sought after during this period. We are delighted he chose Memphis. We see him playing multiple positions which gives us flexibility and he has a burning desire to win something this season. We look forward to Panos bringing his competitiveness and helping us achieve our goals this season.”

Armenakas was part of the Phoenix Rising’s run to the USL Championship title last year. He made 45 of his 51 USL Championship appearances with the Rising and so far this year has started in 12 of his 16 appearances. So far in 2024, he’s tallied two goals and an assist.

Originally born in Newport Beach, Armenakas has played professionally in a number of countries. He signed with Italian side Udinese at age 19, before eventually moving on to play in Denmark, Belgium, and Greece. At the youth international level, he has represent both Greece and Australia.

Memphis 901 FC is back at AutoZone Park this Saturday night against El Paso Locomotive. Tickets are on sale now.
