Memphis hires Iowa State’s Jeff Myers as new offensive line coach

After the season ended, it was announced that Memphis would not retain offensive line coach Jim Bridge. On Sunday night, it was unveiled that Ryan Silverfield has hired Iowa State offensive line coach Jeff Myers to take over the trenches.

Myers has been under Matt Campbell at Iowa State for seven seasons, and he has been the offensive line coach for five seasons. In his time with the Cyclones, the offense has delivered some of the best seasons in school history.

Since taking over as the offensive line coach, Myers has coached seven players with All-Big 12 honors. Myers has coached three First Team All-Big 12 players in Julian Good-Jones, Colin Newell and Trevor Downing.

Memphis’s offensive line struggled under Bridge’s guidance over the last several season, so a change seemed extremely necessary. Myers has been instrumental in Iowa State’s success which bodes well for Silverfield and the Tigers.
