The Memphis Tigers are now 17-5 overall and 7-2 in American Athletic Conference (AAC) play after defeating the Tulsa Golden Hurricane this past Sunday. The Tigers are now on a five-game winning streak and are ranked 42nd in the NET rankings and 36th in the KenPom rankings.

In ESPN’s latest Bracketology (released on 2/3/23), Joe Lunardi still has the Tigers on the bubble in the “Last Four Byes,” but he dropped the Tigers down the seed line from the No. 10 seed to the No. 11 seed in the East (New York) region. However, CBS Sports Bracketology Expert, Jerry Palm, has the Tiger slated as a No. 9 seed in the Midwest (Kansas City) region in his latest bracket prediction (released on 1/30/23).

Next up, the Memphis Tigers will host the Tulane Green Wave Saturday afternoon in a Quad 3 game as the Green Wave are currently ranked 97th in the NET rankings. Also, this matchup presents the Tigers with a chance to avenge an earlier road loss at Tulane and keep pace at the top of the AAC standings.

Memphis is now a combined 11-0 in their Quad 3 and 4 matchups this season and currently five of their remaining nine games will be against that quality of opponent. The chance to avenge some earlier conference losses is coming up as well and winning those games along with continuing to avoid bad losses will go a long way in securing their second consecutive tournament bid.
