Wednesday morning, Memphis fans woke to a pleasant surprise with the addition of highly coveted three-star LB Jamison Curtis to the 2024 recruiting class. Curtis flipped his commitment to the Tigers after originally committing to Troy last month. The 6’1″, 210-pound outside linebacker has garnered major interest on the recruiting trail, collecting several SEC offers from the likes of Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and Missouri.
Curtis caught the eye of football programs throughout the southeast after a phenomenal junior season at Saraland High School (AL). In 2022, he totaled 107 tackles, 3.5 sacks, and 2 interceptions on the way to a Class 6A state championship. A versatile defender, Curtis’ ability to shed would-be blockers, take good tackling angles, and drop back in pass coverage translates well to the collegiate level.
Curtis makes the 10th commitment to the Tigers’ 2024 class and the second addition in July. Memphis has shown a consistent an ability to recruit high-potential linebackers to the 901. Last year, the Tigers signed three-star linebackers Karmelo Overton and Isaiah Thomison along with the addition of JUCO product Chatavies Johnson. A proven track record of producing highly productive players at the LB position is undoubtedly a selling point for the Tigers on the recruiting trail.
