Tickets For Wednesday’s Memphis 901 FC Open Cup Game Go On Sale For $9.01

The city’s area code is 901 and the team name is 901 FC, so it only makes sense that all tickets for Wednesday’s US Open Cup game at AutoZone Park would go on sale for $9.01 starting today.

It was announced in March that all teams in the USL Championship would be joining the 2024 edition of the US Open Cup in the Third Round of the tournament. The late announcement was due in large part to Major League Soccer’s attempt to pull all of their teams out of the competition, citing “fixture congestion” (a problem entirely of their own making with the creation of the cash grab Leagues Cup). US Soccer initially told them no but after several months MLS mostly got their way and only eight of the 27 American teams from MLS will be competing in the competition.

Memphis 901 FC found out their opponent last week. In a draw conducted by US Soccer, Memphis 901 FC was placed in a pot with fellow USL Championship side Miami FC, as well as lower division teams South Georgia Tormenta and Miami United. In the end, they were drawn against Miami United.

Miami United is something of an enigma as for the draw US Soccer had them listed as playing in the USSL while the team’s Twitter page indicates that they are in the NPSL. Whatever league they may play in, they are under a level of scrutiny now after allegations of unusual betting activity on their previous Open Cup game surfaced.

Memphis 901 FC’s game against Miami United will be the team’s first US Open Cup home game since their inaugural season in 2019 when they hosted three US Open Cup games, winning the first two. Wednesday’s game is set for a 6:30pm kickoff at AutoZone Park. Tickets can be purchased at the team’s website or at the stadium box office on game day. Following Wednesday’s game in the Open Cup, Memphis 901 FC will return to USL league play with a home game at AutoZone Park against Monterey Bay on Saturday, April 20 at 7pm.
