On the same day wideout Eddie Lewis entered the transfer portal, Memphis landed Missouri transfer Tauskie Dove. At 6-foot-2 and 195 pounds, Dove brings great size to the Tigers receiving corps.
Wide receiver was a glaring position of need for Ryan Silverfield and the staff as they have lost Javon Ivory, Eddie Lewis and Cameron Wright to the transfer portal. With a ton of losses at the position it was imperative to bring in a receiver for the staff.
Although Dove hasn’t been a superstar in his career with Missouri, he was most certainly productive. Dove played sparingly as a freshman in 2019, but he has appeared in 36 games for the Tigers over the last three seasons. In those games, Dove has 86 receptions for 1,164 yards and three touchdowns.
Dove’s most productive season came in 2021 as he hauled in 38 passes for 576 yards. His step down in production in 2022 can likely be attributed to Missouri’s inability to throw the ball. When they did decide to throw, they had one of the best receivers in the SEC in Dominic Lovett which took opportunities away from Dove.
Needless to say, this is yet another strong addition for Memphis. Dove was a solid and productive player in the SEC, and he has the ability and potential to be a standout addition.
