The Memphis Hustle battled it against the South Bay Lakers for the second straight evening and lost both matchups to conclude their western conference road trip, where they finished 2-4 in the six-game stretch. Matthew Hurt returned to the Hustle in this matchup after his 10-day callup from the Memphis Grizzlies expired, while DeJon Jarreau was called up on his own 10-day deal for his first glimpse of NBA action, and he missed this game as a result.

South Bay’s charge was led by former Grizzly and NBA journeyman Shaquille Harrison, who finished with 33 points, six boards, and five steals, leading the way for the Lakers on the offensive and defensive ends. Jack White also contributed 21 points and six boards to the victory.

The Hustle were faced with the tall task of replicating the production of Deeky Jarreau in this one, and it was not easy. South Bay jumped out to an early lead and left Memphis scrambling to bounce back from that point forward, and though they managed to make it a game in the third quarter by making a run and taking the lead, it still was not enough for the W. Adonis Arms was back in the mix for this matchup and dropped 28 points, seven boards, and five assists while breaking the franchise record for points in a quarter with 22 points, while Matthew Hurt went off for 27 points and seven boards in his return with the team.

This loss drops the Hustle to 12-15 on the season, and without Deeky Jarreau for at least the next week, it will be very interesting to see how this squad pushes as we are down to the last seven games of the season. It’s a tall task, but for this resilient squad, nothing is impossible.

The Hustle will finally be live from home court in their next matchup this Friday night as they battle the Oklahoma City Blue at the Landers Center. The tip will be live at 7:00 p.m. CDT.
