Grizz Gaming Point Guard—Vandi—Nominated for 2K League “Player of the Week” Honors

Memphis Grizzlies NBA 2K League franchise Grizz Gaming entered the second 3v3 Tournament looking to make a mark, and win some money this past week. In pool play of the 2K League “Switch Tournament,” Grizz Gaming went 3-1 in week one.

Following an opening night in which Grizz Gaming split their two opening series with a 3-2 series win over Grizz Gaming, but then getting swept by Jazz Gaming, Grizz Gaming Head Coach told his guys the cold hard truth. “That’s bad ball. We are playing bad ball, man,” AuthenticAfrican told his team. Authentic, normally a quiet guy, picking the right moment to lay it out for his team.

With a day to reset, Grizz Gaming had two matchups Thursday night to save their week. Matchups with Bucks Gaming, where former Center Dimez and Point Guard CP resided. Then, to wrap up their opening week of the Switch, a matchup with a talented Warriors Gaming Squad.

Grizz Gaming cruised through both matchups on Thursday night beating both Bucks Gaming and Warriors Gaming 3-1, and ending week one with a 3-1 record.

It was a team effort, but overall, Memphis’ Point Guard Vandi led the Grizz once again averaging 11.5 points per game, on 77% shooting (67% from 3PT), and 2.3 assist per game. Vandi’s leadership led to him being nominated for the 2K League’s Player of the Week honors.

It’s been Vandi’s goal to win more than just a Player of the Week since he’s returned to Memphis. The goal is championship(s). It seems as if Grizz Gaming is finding their stride nearly a month into this young 2K League season.

Grizz Gaming will begin bracket play for The Switch next week after securing a top seed with their stellar 3-1 record in pool play this past week.
