With the transfer portal opening in just 5 days, the University of Memphis has its first portal entry. Red shirt freshman kicker David camp has officially entered the transfer portal. Kemp has had a interesting time here at Memphis. For those who aren’t aware David Kemp was a project until he broke his foot several weeks before the start of the football season. An injury that turned out to be pretty pivotal for the 2021 football season. Of course in 2022 the staff brought in University of Florida transfer Chris Howard. After an up and down career at the University of florida, most thought this move was to push Kemp to become the next Tiger kicking great; however as the spring and fall practices went on we kept hearing about Howard unless about Kim. Howard, of course, went on to land the starting job and be nothing less than awesome the entire season.
What makes this portal entry interesting is David Kemp is projected to be the starter next season given Howard is a senior with NFL potential & exhaustion of eligibility.
