Former Toledo wide receiver DeMeer Blankumsee chooses Memphis
Memphis landed its second wide receiver from the transfer portal on Tuesday with the addition of DeMeer Blankumsee. The 5-foot-10 wideout spent two seasons at Toldeo, and he had 41 receptions for 512 yards and three touchdowns in 2022.
Although he only appeared in nine games, he was second on the team in receptions and third in receiving yards. Blankumsee had back-to-back 100-yard games during the season and helped the Rockets win the MAC Championship.
The Tigers lost Javon Ivory, Eddie Lewis and Cameron Wright in the transfer portal, so adding more receivers has been a priority for Ryan Silverfield and the staff. Memphis added former Missouri wide receiver Tauskie Dove last week, and the addition of Blankumsee adds another weapon for quarterback Seth Henigan.
