Hustle Still Blue After Fifth Straight Loss, Falling to Oklahoma City
For the second time in three days, the Memphis Hustle squared off against the Oklahoma City Thunder, looking to avoid five straight losses, including two to Oklahoma City alone. The Sunday showdown wound up very similar to the Friday night matchup, with the Blue taking both games on the Hustle’s home court. This now drops the Hustle to 12-17 on the season, making their chances at making the playoffs look extremely slim.
Olivier Sarr led all players in scoring with 30 points to go along with 13 boards, three steals, and a block to ignite the Thunder to their second straight win in Memphis. Ousmane Dieng was one board shy of a 17-point triple-double to go along with 11 dimes on the evening. All but one Thunder player scored in double digits on the evening, highlighting the Hustle’s continuous struggles on the defensive end of the floor.
Adonis Arms led the charge for the Hustle again this evening, tallying 23 points, nine rebounds, and five assists, leading the team in scoring and rebounds. The offensive end was fairly kind to the squad this evening, with six guys hitting double-digit scoring, shooting 50% on 17 three-pointers, and dishing out 25 assists on 40 shots. While it was one of the more cohesive offensive performances from the team as of late, the defense lacked and allowed a huge scoring output from the Thunder as well, ultimately leading to another loss on the home floor.
The Hustle will return to action versus the Sioux Falls Skyforce on Tuesday afternoon. The tip will be live from the Landers Center in Southaven, Mississippi, at 7:00 p.m. The game will be available for viewing at ESPN+.
