Memphis announces home-and-home series against Southern Miss

The University of Memphis football program announced on Wednesday they will play a home-and-home series against Southern Miss. The two teams will matchup first at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium on September 18, 2027 and follow that up with a game in Hattiesburg on September 21, 2030.

Obviously both of these games aren’t coming in the near future, but the program is working on filling out future schedules. They are clearly also prioritizing playing games with opponents that are in close proximity.

Although it isn’t a big name opponent, it could be fun to see this rivalry renewed. Memphis and Southern Miss played each other for the first time in 1935 and have played each other 63 times in total.
