Statements from Malcolm Dandridge:

What went into the decision to enter the transfer portal for your final season in college basketball?

Well the decision to enter the portal was really just to see where I stand as a player in the country and not only that, but to see if there are other opportunities that are out there for me for my route into the NBA. My main focus is really to get all the way healthy this summer and show the world what kind of player I truly am. I want to experience how other great programs are ran.

What do you want to say to Tiger fans that have been in your corner, watching you play since you were in high school at East?

To the fans, especially to my day 1 fans who have been in my corner a truly a supportive of me not only as a basketball player but also as a person, I would like to inform them of how grateful and truly blessed to have great people like I have, in my corner. In the darkest of times, and when reminders and signs needed to be shown to me during adversity throughout this career, I can say that I always had more fans than not protecting me and really truly understanding the person I am and not blemishing me or my character for selfish or troll reasons 😂🤣 I just really appreciate that and I will
Be forever connected with them for life. I have a high respect for people who live and do the right things out of love without any selfish agendas because that’s rare in today’s land

After four years at Memphis under Penny Hardaway, center Malcolm Dandridge has entered the transfer portal. In his four years with the Tigers, Dandridge has a career average of 4.2 points and 3.0 rebounds per game.

Dandridge improved statistically every year at the collegiate level, and he had his best season last year. The senior center averaged 5.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game.

If Dandridge ultimately finds a new school and doesn’t return to Memphis, the Tigers are really lacking size in the front court. Hardaway and the staff already had a need at the center position and the loss of Dandridge doesn’t help.
