Memphis expecting multiple big time transfer portal visitors this week
Memphis coach Penny Hardaway and the staff will be welcoming at least four transfers throughout this week and into the weekend. Florida State transfer Caleb Mills, Samford transfer Ques Glover, Dayton transfer Mustapha Amzil and Middle Tennessee transfer Teafale Leonard are all expected to be on campus.
The Tigers have already landed one transfer portal commitment – former Temple forward Nick Jourdain – and they are clearly looking to add more.
FLORIDA STATE TRANSFER CALEB MILLS
PPG: 13.0
RPG: 3.0
APG: 3.4
Memphis fans are likely familiar with Mills as he spent two seasons at Houston before making his way to Tallahassee. Mills had equal success with the Seminoles, and he is currently the No. 60 overall transfer according to On3 Sports. Mills is set to be in Memphis on Thursday.
SAMFORD TRANSFER QUES GLOVER
PPG: 14.7
RPG: 2.5
APG: 2.1
Glover had a solid year in 2022 but his 2021 stats were much more eye-popping. In the 2021-2022 season, Glover averaged 19.2 points, 4.4 assists and 2.8 rebounds per game. The Samford transfer is scheduled to arrive in Memphis on Friday, April 7.
DAYTON TRANSFER MUSTAPHA AMZIL
PPG: 9.3
RPG: 4.8
APG: 1.7
Amzil will begin his visit to Memphis on Thursday, and he has great size at 6-foot-8 and 224 pounds. There were times last season when Memphis’ size hurt him, and Amzil has plenty of it on the wing.
MIDDLE TENNESSEE TRANSFER TEAFALE LENARD
PPG: 8.3
RPG: 4.0
APG: 1.7
Lenard is a guard/forward with exceptional size at 6-foot-7. The MTSU transfer is an elite defender and his plenty of athleticism that is prevalent on both ends of the floor. Lenard will be on his visit over the weekend.
