Memphis lands former Florida State cornerback Malik Feaster

Memphis’s coaching staff has clearly prioritized the defensive backfield in the transfer portal since the bowl game. In the last several days, the Tigers have landed Florida State transfer Malik Feaster, Ohio State transfer Jaylen Johnson and Arkansas transfer Simeon Blair.
Feaster transferred to Florida State last offseason after spending four seasons at Jacksonville State. The transfer corner only appeared in four games last season before “shutting it down” according to Noles247’s Chris Nee.
Although he didn’t make much of an impact at Florida State, he was a standout player at Jacksonville State. In his four seasons, Feaster had 118 tackles, four tackles for loss, three interceptions, 24 pass breakups and two fumble recoveries.
The secondary has been a point of weakness for the Tigers in recent years, but defensive coordinator Matt Barnes is loading up on former Power Five players.
