Milwaukee forward Jamichael Stillwell setting up visit with Memphis basketball

Penny Hardaway continues to heavily attack college basketball’s open market.
Former Milwaukee forward Jamichael Stillwell, who entered the transfer portal earlier this month, is setting up a visit with Memphis, multiple sources confirmed to Bluff City Media Friday. A potential date is currently unknown, but a source adds that it’s expected to be “soon.”
Stillwell, a 6-foot-8 junior, helped Milwaukee finish second in the Horizon League this season before losing to Oakland in the conference tournament quarterfinals. He averaged 13 points, 10.7 rebounds (No. 7 in Division I) and 1.3 steals on 46.8% shooting. His 16 double-doubles tied for 11th in the country. The Atlanta native also grabbed 333 total rebounds this year, which ranks No. 14 nationally.
Stillwell, who previously played at Miami Dade College and Butler Community College (El Dorado, Kansas), received the Horizon League Newcomer of the Year award and an All-League First Team selection for his efforts. He enters next season with one year of eligibility remaining.
Stillwell would be an ideal candidate to replace Nick Jourdain, whose eligibility expired this year, as Memphis’ starting power forward. The Tigers are also expectedly losing Tyrese Hunter, Colby Rogers and Moussa Cisse to exhausted eligibility, and Jared Harris, Baraka Okojie and PJ Carter to the transfer portal. This means Hardaway must replace at least seven scholarship players this offseason.
Dain Dainja is currently out of eligibility too, but he’s repeatedly expressed belief that he’s entitled to an additional campaign. Sources say that Dainja plans to file for a waiver from the NCAA to potentially rejoin Memphis next season.
PJ Haggerty, Dante Harris, redshirt Bouna Kebe and walk-on Damarien “Dink” Yates can all return in 2025-26. Eastern Florida guard Felipe Patino and Overtime Elite guard Daniel Vieira-Tuck are the only incoming players for next year’s team as of now.
This leaves Memphis with eight open scholarships.
Besides Stillwell, Memphis has reached out to the following players in the transfer portal:
South Dakota State center Oscar Cluff
Quinnipiac forward Amarri Monroe (visit pending)
Temple guard Quante Berry (visiting Friday)
Syracuse forward Chris Bell (visit pending)
South Carolina forward Zachary Davis (visit pending)
Seton Hall guard Isaiah Coleman
South Carolina Upstate guard Brit Harris
Western Kentucky guard Julius Thedford
Purdue Fort Wayne guard Jalen Jackson
UMass Lowell guard Martin Somerville
Texas Rio Grand Valley guard Hasan Abdul-Hakim
Miami guard Jalil Bathea
Purdue Fort Wayne forward Chandler Cuthrell
Farleigh Dickinson guard Terrence Brown
Arkansas State guard Derrian Ford
Clemson guard Del Jones
Bethune Cookman forward Kalil Camara
