Three-star forward David Tubek decommits from Memphis

Memphis currently has five signees in the 2023 class, but there were two players who didn’t sign in the early period: Ty-Laur Johnson and David Tubek.
On Sunday, On3Sports’ Joe Tipton announced that Tubek informed him that he has decommited from Memphis. Tubek was the Tigers lowest ranked recruit, and he is only a two-star in 247Sports’ rankings.
It has long felt like Tubek wouldn’t be a part of this class and now it’s official. In all fairness, it likely would’ve taken Tubek years to crack the rotation at Memphis. His development would’ve taken time and patience and he’s likely a better fit at a smaller school.
