Memphis 901 FC announced on Thursday the club has signed attacker Noe Meza to a multi-year deal. Meza comes to Memphis from Union Omaha in USL League One (where, perhaps not so coincidentally, new Chief Operations Officer Jay Mims came from) where over the course of the last two seasons he tallied 23 goals and six assists. It was partly due to Meza’s contributions that Union Omaha won the USL League One regular season championship just last year.
“Noe has performed at a high level for Union Omaha over the past two seasons and deserves his opportunity at the Championship level,” Assistant Sporting Director Caleb Patterson-Sewell said. “He gives us options across the front line, scores goals, and is an extremely hard worker which is important for our group. We look forward to Noe having a successful 2024 season.”
Originally from the state of Washington, Meza played 62 games of college soccer at Seattle University and also made 16 appearances for the Seattle Sounders U-23 team (where he knocked in five goals).
The signing of Meza is the latest new addition to the Memphis 901 FC roster. The Beale Street Boys were able to retain ten players from last season’s team that finished fourth in the Eastern Conference and hosted a home playoff game. In addition to that, they were also able to score a coup of sorts in bringing back 2021’s leading goalscorer Kyle Murphy. Most recently, the team inked captain Leston Paul to an extension that will keep him here through the 2025 season, as well as seeing him expand his role with the coaching staff.
More news regarding new signings and players with options on their contract will be announced in the near future.
The season for 901 FC kicks off on Saturday, March 9 downtown at AutoZone Park against the Las Vegas Lights, with another home game the following Saturday against Indy Eleven.
2024 season tickets are on sale now and information regarding single game ticket sales will be made available soon.
