Memphis lands talented Texas safety Cyrus Reyes
On Tuesday, Memphis added its third commitment in as many days with the addition of talented
safety Cyrus Reyes. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound Katy, Texas native received an offer from defensive coordinator Matt Barnes and the Tigers a few days before taking an official visit to Memphis over the weekend.
Reyes currently holds offers from the likes of Arkansas State, Eastern Illinois, and Northern Iowa while also receiving interest from Utah and Baylor. As a junior, he was named a team captain and selected 2nd team all-district.
It will be interesting to track what other programs may get involved with Reyes’s recruitment now
that he’s committed to Memphis. Head coach Ryan Silverfield has stated in the past that it isn’t too uncommonfor P5 programs to try and swoop in and snatch recruits after the Memphis staff has done the leg work to discover hidden talent.
With the addition of Reyes, the Tigers now have four commitments in the 2024 recruiting class. For our insider subscribers, Bluff City Media has identified several other recruits that Memphis is heavily involved with, so head on over to see who may be the next domino to fall.
