The 2023 regular season has come to an end, but that doesn’t mean newsworthy happenings will cease within the college football world. On Monday, just days after the conclusion of the Tigers’ regular season in Philadelphia, a pair of Tigers, starting RG Davion Carter and backup QB Tevin Carter, announced their intentions to enter their names into the NCAA Transfer Portal.

In two seasons at Memphis, Davion Carter was widely considered one of the highest-rated performers in the Tigers’ offense. A member of the 2022 signing class, Carter started his career at Northwest Mississippi Community College and won a national championship with the Rangers in 2020. At Memphis, Carter appeared in every game of his two year Tiger career. After struggling the previous two seasons, the Memphis offensive line drastically improved in 2023. Memphis RB Blake Watson became the first player to rush for 1,000 yards in a season since Kenny Gainwell in 2019 and Seth Henigan was sacked less often in Jeff Myers first season as offensive line coach.

Memphis native and fan favorite Tevin Carter additionally entered the portal on Monday. A once highly-coveted recruit, Carter selected the hometown Tigers over competing offers from Georgia Tech, Texas A&M, and others. A one-time Elite 11 finalist, Carter served two seasons as the backup QB for three-year starter Seth Henigan. Carter’s most memorable moment as a Tiger came earlier this season when stepping in for an injured Seth Henigan against South Florida. With a 3-point lead in the 4th Quarter, Carter found Roc Taylor for a 85-yard touchdown to extend the Tigers’ lead to 10.

Buckle up Tigers fans, the portal giveth, and the portal taketh away..

  1. Make at least $928 every day working online for a while. My closest friend’s $29,000 tale helps me decide what to do. But I don’t think it’s worth it since it’s so real compared td03 to the life I lead now.
